Bollywood is the second largest entertainment industry which abounds a huge number of celebrities. Enigma of Bollywood is so deep that it even managed to lure some royal bloods in the industry. These celebs come from all sorts of backgrounds and regions. Some of these royal bloods doesn’t even look like one, but still are royal in one way or the other. If you are done with crushing over the hot physique and attractive features of the stars, here are some names which may shock you. Here is a list of Bollywood Celebrities who hail from Royal Families.
Saif Ali Khan comes fourth in the race of most bankable Khans of Bollywood. He is famous for his work in ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ (1994), ‘Tu Chor Main Sipahi’ (1996), ‘Kachche Dhaage’ (1999), ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’ (1999), ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ (2001), ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ (2003), ‘Omkara’ (2006), and many more.
Saifu inherited the title of ‘Nawab of Pataudi’ in 2011 after his father passed away. He became the tenth Nawab of Pataudi in a pagri ceremony. Additionally, his paternal grandmother was the Begum of Bhopal.
TRIVIA: The Government of India has abolished the existence of princely titles. But the actor is still popularly called the ‘Chote Nawab of Pataudi’.
Aditi Rao Hydari already looks like the type of woman who would have some royal connections. Her appearance and that elegance in her talks would’ve made us crush on her even if she wasn’t so royal. She is famous for her work in ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’ (2011), ‘Rockstar’ (2011), ‘Murder 3’ (2013), ‘Fitoor’ (2016) and ‘Padmavati’ (2018).
Aditi is not part of one, but two royal families. Don’t get confused, by two royal families I meant the inheritance of her mother and father. She chose to get out of her royal lineage and start her acting career in 2007 in a Tamil movie called ‘Sringaram.’
TRIVIA: Aditi Rao Hydari is a trained classical Bharatanatyam dancer and got married at the early age of just 21 to Satyadeep Mishra.
One of the most talented and appreciated performers of Indian cinema, Irrfan Khan also belongs to a royal family. He might not look royal by his utterly simply appearance and down-to-earth nature, but he is royal by blood as well as talents. He is famous for his work in ‘The Namesake’ (2006), ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (2008), ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ (2012), ‘Life of Pi’ (2012), and ‘Jurrasic World’ (2015).
Irfan is by far the most established performer who has bagged so many roles in Bollywood as well as Hollywood. He belongs to a royal Muslim Pathan family but we are glad that he chose to act rather than procrastinating or boasting about his royal background.
TRIVIA: Irrfan Khan landed a scholarship to study at National School of Drama (NSD) by a stroke of luck. He then starred in a critically acclaimed film called ‘Salaam Bombay.’ But unfortunately, his whole role was chopped off.
Wife of Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao is a distinguished filmmaker, screenwriter and film producer. She was quite studious since birth which is probably the pillar of her creative mind. Kiran is also related to Aditi Rao Hydari. They are first cousins.
Kiran Rao’s grandfather was the Raja of Wanaparthy, Mahabubnagar district. She met her hubby on the sets of the gobsmackingly epic ‘Lagaan’ (2001).
TRIVIA: Kiran Rao may have only one film under her name, but she has assisted famous directors for many movies.
Rahul Dev Burman aka R. D. Burman is considered to be a gem of Bollywood. R.D. (Puncham Da) is remembered as the most popular music composer in the history of Hindi music. He scored music for more than three hundred films and won many national and international accolades.
He is the only son of the composer Sachin Dev Burman (S.D. Burman) which makes him a royal blood too. His grandmother was the royal princess of Manipur and his grandfather was the son of Maharaja Ishanachandra Manikya Dev Burman, Maharaja of Tripura.
TRIVIA: It is believed that Burman could cry in five different notes. This might be the reason he was nicknamed ‘Pancham’ which means 5 in Bengali.
We weren’t even surprised when we came to know that Bhagyashree belongs to a royal family. Look at her! I mean just look at her! She has everything there is to a royal background. She is an exquisitely dignified lady who is famous for her work in ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ (1989) opposite Salman Khan.
Bhagyashree belongs to a royal family of Sangli, Maharashtra and her father is the Raja of Sangli. She has her fill of movies but now is into television shows more. But amazingly, she is still graceful!
TRIVIA: Bhagyashree had a very conservative family which is why she had to get back home before sundown. She decided to act with her husband only in movies which didn’t turn out well for her acting career.
The gorgeous actress has so much more than just splendor. Best known for her role in ‘Jannat’ (2008), Sonal belongs to a traditional Rajput family from Manipuri, Uttar Pradesh. Her father is from a royal Chauhan family. Her royal blood might be the reason behind her deft at so many creative things.
She might’ve had a comparatively bad spell in movies, but at least she never boasted of her royal lineage. Sonal never used her royal background when she clenched the coveted Miss World Tourism title.
TRIVIA: Sonal is the first Indian model who ever won Miss World Tourism title.
Alisa Khan is still on her way to fame but you might’ve seen her in several music videos. She belongs to the royal lineage of Mohammad Nawab Ghaziauddin aka Wazir Ghazi-ud-din. All of the Ghaziabad in NCR Delhi is named after Nawab Ghaziauddin.
This new entrant was rumored to star opposite Emraan Hashmi last year. But there are still no signs of the project.
TRIVIA: Alisa grabbed the limelight in 2016 when this model-turned-actor was seen living in the bylanes of Delhi. She was allegedly kicked out of her home.
I hope these names intrigued you enough. Now go ahead and check out their movies!
